Cooperations with the Artists for Future

9 – 12 p.m. As part of the theme days Taking Care – Extinctions!?

Climate Time Machine by Tom Poe
The Climate Time Machine was originally developed by Artists for Future for the launch event of the "Es Brennt! campaign. Now it can be seen as a transportable version at the Weltmuseum Wien for the ORF-Lange Nacht der Museen.

Wake-up Machine by Lilly Panholzer and Carmen Fetz
An artistic installation with audio playback via headphones, designed to wake people up to the climate crisis. Standing on a vibrating plate, one hears a text on the climate crisis via headphones.

Live Painting with Käthe Löffelmann
The 2x4 metre artwork shows a gloomy and grey factory landscape, money is raining, clouds of smoke are rising. In a four-hour live painting, the artist transforms the grey canvas into a positive vision of the future.

Zoom-In: 20 Minutes, 1 Photo, DE/EN.

20 minutes for a photo, a small group of photos or a photoalbum from the collection of the Weltmuseum Wien:

In this short guided tour with curator Hanin Hannouch (she-her) we direct our attention to a single iconic photo, a small group of photos or a photo album. The goal is to get to know new photographers* from the so-called Global South or women behind the camera. Together we discover the global reach of photography that goes beyond the productions of white cis men. In doing so, we honor the influence these photographers had on the history of the medium.

The event will take place behind the scenes of the museum in the seminar room DG.41.
