The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, the Austrian Indonesian Society, and the Weltmuseum Wien Friends cordially invite you to a unique gamelan workshop and a performance at the Weltmuseum Wien.

With free participation, an impressive gamelan performance awaits you. Let yourself be enchanted by the virtuosity of the musicians and the variety of sounds and experience the magic of the Indonesian musical tradition up close.

Our interactive workshop offers you the rare opportunity to become part of a gamelan orchestra –"Ngesti Budoyo" – yourself. Under the guidance of experienced musicians from Austria and Indonesia, you will learn the basics of this unique instrument and discover the harmonious sounds and rhythms that make gamelan so special. Prof. Dr. Sarah Weiss from Kunst Universität Graz (KUG) will guide participants in German and English. For all ages and levels of experience: No prior knowledge is required. Just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.
