In this exhibition, we encounter living plants that are an integral part of our homes and gardens today - such as the geranium, the Ficus benjamina and the Usambara violet. We get to the bottom of their origins and shed light on the often overlooked connections between botany and colonialism. The focus ranges from historical plant hunters to current issues surrounding biopiracy and international agreements on the protection of biodiversity.
