An image of Africa “made in Europe”

Workshop - Black History Month

workshop
90 min
€ 9 (valid museum ticket required)

What do you know about Africa and where does this knowledge come from? Many interests play(ed) a role in creating a certain image of Africa. The creation of these images began before colonialism, but changed rapidly with European interest in the resources of the African continent. Museums have played a significant role in shaping this image to this day.

In this workshop, we will look at how this image has been and continues to be constructed and reproduced. Together we will try to approach a contemporary, diverse image.

Duration: 90 Min.
Admission: € 9 (valid museum ticket required)
Registration online (limited number of participants)
